Medical Assistant - Cardiology (DALLAS/ROCKWALL)

Then join us! 99 Healthcare Management is seeking a Medical Assistant for Connected Cardiovascular Care Associates to support both the DALLAS and ROCKWALL locations. Duties include accompanying patients to exam/procedure room, collecting patient history, taking vitals, administering injections and immunizations, assisting with procedures, prescription refills, and patient call backs.

This position will require a valid DL and reliable transportation.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:30 am-5 pm and Friday 8:30 am - 3 pm. No weekends or after hours.

Responsibilities include:

  • Rooming patients, taking vitals and collecting patient histories
  • Assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the providers
  • Updating and filing patients’ medical records
  • Relaying instructions to patients/families
  • Cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control
  • Restocking exam/procedure rooms
  • Prescription refills
  • Process prior authorizations and communicate approvals or denials to the patient or referring provider
  • Complete orders for imaging as instructed by the provider
  • Call patients with testing results as instructed by the provider
  • Other administrative duties as assigned and as needed

 Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required
  • A Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program required
  • Experience working in a physician office is required; preferably experience in Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, and/or Internal Medicine
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • EMR experience also required; E-Clinical Works preferred
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Social perceptiveness and service-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Demonstrates compassion and delivers care with high degree of customer service
