CT Technologist, Cardiology (Rockwall, TX) - Sign-On Bonus
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cardiac CT Technologist to join our esteemed cardiology practice, serving the Rockwall / Heath areas. This is a great opportunity to have a role in an outpatient environment with a friendly schedule supportive of work/life balance.
This position is primarily responsible for performing CT examinations in a safe and therapeutic manner. The CT Technologist is expected to deliver care to the patients of the practice, delivering quality service. The major responsibilities are operating independently under physician supervision to perform Coronary CT Angios, Calcium Scores, and other cardiac examinations.

Essential Functions:
- Perform CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
- Independently start IVs on patients, administer contrast, and other medications as required for the examination.
- Perform those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology.
- Regulate the equipment used to expose, develop and document via PACS imaging.
- Operate equipment safely and maintains A.L.A.R.A. standards while performing all types of procedures.
- Coordinate patient scheduling with practice scheduling staff and practice administrator.
- Collaborate with physicians and staff to identify proper exams.
- Prepare necessary documentation.
- Verify patient identification and physician orders.
- Obtain patient history and explain procedures to patients/families.
- Observe and monitor patients.
- Provide film/scan critiques as needed.
- Enter data into the EMR and PACS system.
- Recommend and complete quality and/or process improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of clinical protocols for new services and programs (i.e., Watchman, TAVR, PE, Low Volume Contrast, etc.).
- Establish and maintain a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, practice staff and physicians.
- Maintain logs and records, equipment maintenance, and order supplies.
- Assess images on screen or film to ensure quality for physician interpretation.
- Manage protocols and procedures to include multiple locations.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures as needed for IAC accreditation.
- Provide data collection and protocol information necessary for IAC accreditation.
- Provide and manage post-processing of 3D imaging required by interpreting physician.
- Assist in training other Imaging Technologists.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
- Certification by appropriate body (ARRT) and valid Texas Radiological License.
- CT certification.
- CPR / BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- Must have a minimum of four to six (4-6) years’ experience in CT imaging.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and external vendors.
- Ability to perform CT procedures without supervision.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills are essential.
- Microsoft Office suite.
- Electronic Medical Record/Patient Scheduling systems.
- PACS and DICOM viewer systems.
Schedule:
- Monday-Thursday, 8 AM - 5 PM, and Friday, 8 AM - 3 PM. No weekends, holidays, or after hours.
