Nuclear Medicine Technologist – Cardiac PET/CT

Connected Cardiovascular Care Associates (C3), a privately owned and operated Cardiology practice, is seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine and Cardiac PET/CT Technologist to join our growing cardiology practice serving the Heath and Dallas communities. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced cardiac imaging technology within a collaborative, physician-led environment. We perform cardiac PET/CT testing 4 days a week, and Nuclear Cardiology Stress Testing one day a week. This position includes full time support with a trained cardiac stress tech that performs IV access, patient preparation, and onsite support.

Position Overview

  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00AM–4:00 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM–3:00 PM 
  • Locations: Primarily works from the Dallas clinic with occasional travel to Heath as needed

This position plays an important role in supporting C3's cardiac imaging services, with responsibility for performing high-quality nuclear medicine procedures, PET/CT cardiac stress testing, and maintaining patient safety, and supporting accurate diagnostic imaging along with required annual accreditation standards and record keeping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and pharmacologic stress agents under physician supervision and according to manufacturer guidelines for cardiac imaging procedures
  • Ensure accurate dosage and proper handling of radioactive materials
  • Explain procedures to patients and address questions or concerns
  • Monitor patients throughout imaging procedures to ensure safety and comfort
  • Assist patients before, during, and after procedures as needed
  • Operate nuclear medicine and cardiac PET/CT imaging equipment to perform cardiac scans
  • Position patients and adjust equipment to obtain optimal images
  • Perform computer acquisition and processing of complex nuclear data and images for interpretation by nuclear cardiologists
  • Follow established safety protocols for handling and disposing of radioactive materials
  • Perform regular quality control checks on imaging equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of procedures, patient information, and radiopharmaceutical usage
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to support comprehensive patient care
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and practice policies
  • Serve as a preceptor and provide training to new team members on services and initiatives as needed
  • Administer first aid and utilize emergency equipment when necessary
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain appropriate levels of clinical supplies required to perform exams
  • Load, transport, and unload mobile nuclear cameras and/or other equipment in a designated company vehicle between practice locations as needed

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) or Registered Radiographer (ARRT-N)
  • Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) license through the Texas Department of State Health Services
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Basic knowledge of EKGs necessary to perform cardiac studies
  • Ability to administer intramuscular and intravenous injections and start intravenous lines
  • Ability to perform nuclear medicine procedures without supervision
  • Ability to make quick, highly technical decisions to accommodate physical restrictions and pathology
  • Strong leadership and management skills
